What the median Shopify store converts
Medians from Littledata’s published Shopify benchmarks: GA4 data from 424 stores, Jul 13 – Oct 10, 2026. Oran’s app uses the same figures.
Cart to checkout isn’t published directly; it’s derived from cart abandonment and checkout completion, so treat it as approximate. Category medians aren’t published by device, so with a device mix the device median is scaled by the category’s ratio to all stores.
Simple math, shown in full
1. Your three rates
Session to cart is carts ÷ sessions. Cart to checkout is checkouts ÷ carts. Checkout to order is orders ÷ checkouts.
2. The gap to the median
Each rate is compared with the median store, adjusted for your category and device mix when you give them. Steps at or above the median add nothing.
3. Lost orders, in dollars
For a step below the median, the missing share of shoppers is carried through your own later steps to orders, then multiplied by your average order value. Steps are calculated one at a time and added up.
4. What it doesn’t tell you
It doesn’t check whether a gap is bigger than normal month-to-month noise, which device it comes from or why it happens. Oran’s app does all three before it counts anything as a leak.
